Data for all causes of death has been updated to February 2022. The method of calculating the number of excess/exiguous deaths nationwide has been updated. Previously, the number of excess/exiguous deaths in each of the 47 prefectures was accumulated and used as the national figure. From this update, the number of excess/exiguous deaths has been calculated directly from the number of observed deaths nationwide.
